Firmware 1.23

   1. Firmware 1.23 is a major update for GuestGate. It adds many new features and improves the stability as well as the performance of GuestGate.


      a) Kernel Upgrade
      Firmware 1.23 is based on a new LINUX Kernel that provides greater stability and performance under heavy load conditions.

      b) Internet Access Scheduler
      Control when Internet access should be available to your guests.

      c) Welcome Page Update
      Advanced programming option is now available for the customized welcome page. You get full access to the HTML source code and can make changes right on GuestGate's admin interface.

      d) User specific passwords
      You can now define passwords for individual users, specify the time window in which they can be used and decide, how many users can connect to GuestGate using this password.

      e) Forced User Reconnect
      You can define a time during the day to automatically reboot GuestGate to force all users to reconnect (and re-authenticate).


      We recommend this update for all users that either a) would like to use the new functions, or b) experiences stability problems with the last firmware 1.13.


   2. Installation
      Make sure that you have firmware 1.13 installed before you begine.
      a) Download the firmware image (see link below)
      b) Unzip the archive
      c) Connect to GuestGate's Web Admin Interface
      d) Click on 'Device Settings'
      e) Click on 'Browse' and select the file '523240_fw123.img'
      f) Click on "Install"
      g) Wait for the upgrade process to complete. This may take a few minutes.
      h) Reconnect to the Admin Interface after the upgrade is completed.
      i) Verify the new firmware version on the 'Status' page.
