german version (deutsche Version)

Dear TELES customer,

this file contains information about the TELES.ISDN CAPI Version 3.37, the driver software for TELES.ISDN adapters for Windows 2000.

The CAPI 3.37 driver supports the following TELES.ISDN adapters

The TELES.Vision-B1 and TELES.S0/AB boards can only be used as ISDN adapters. Their video and audio functions will not be supported.

A driver for the TELES.Vision-B5 is not included in the CAPI 3.37.

The CAPI 3.37 driver consists of the following files:

- netteles.inf      Windows driver information file. This file identifies the driver software and all the

                        devices it supports.

- netteles.cat     Windows catalog file, contains the list of driver files.

- data1.cab        Windows cabinet file, contains the actual driver files. The files are unpacked and

                        decompressed automatically during installation.

- readme.htm and liesmich.htm Feature description and installation instructions in English and

                        German.

Features:

-          CAPI 1.1 and 2.0 interfaces

-          WAN NDIS Miniport driver for the Dial-Up network (to connect your PC to the internet)

-          ISDN Monitor icon in the taskbar that shows all activity of your ISDN adapter

-          D channel protocols: DSS1 (Euro-ISDN) and 1TR6 (former German protocol)

-          B channel protocols: bit transparent, HDLC transparent, HDLC (ISO7776), ISO8208, V.110

-          more than one adapter can be installed and used in a single PC. The dial-up network allows to bundle the channels of all adapters and thereby connect to the internet at a multiple of the 64kbit/s speed. But please be aware that your Internet Service Provider has to support channel bundling to make this work.

-          Operation on multiprocessor machines is now also supported.

The CAPI 3.37 driver is tailored to support our application package TELES.RVS-PowerPack. Therefore it does not contain its own analog fax and modem emulation. It also does not install virtual ISDN modems. These functions are part of the TELES.RVS-PowerPacks, that we currently deliver with all our ISDN adapter to new customers.

To operate the TELES.RVS-PowerPacks 1.63 properly under Windows2000 we supply an Update in the download section on our web site (http://www.teles.de) free of charge.

Our former application package TELES.OnlinePowerPack does not run under Windows2000. For customers that ran this package under WindowsNT or Windows9x before, we will offer the TELES.RVS-PowerPack as an update version shortly. Please refer to related announcements on our web site (http://www.teles.de).

We will also offer the CAPI 3.37 driver in other languages as well as updates or bug fixes on our web site as they become available.

Installation:

Unzip the driver files into any directory by starting the downloaded capi337.exe.

For the following ISDN adapters Windows will ask you automatically for a driver when you boot it the first time with the card installed:

·         TELES.S0/PCI

·         TELES.S0/16.3 PnP

·         TELES.S016.3c PnP

·         TELES.PCMCIA

·         TELES.S0/USB-Box

·         TELES.S0/2ab-USB-Box

In the following cases you have to start the installation manually:

·         if you upgraded your PC to Windows 2000 while your ISDN Adapter was already installed

·         if you ended an automatically started installation because you had no driver

·         if you own one of the following adapters:

o        TELES.S0/16

o        TELES.S0/16.3

o        TELES.S0/AB

o        TELES.Vision B1

o        TELES.S0-Box

o        TELES.S0/AB-Box

When Windows automatically starts the installation…

let the wizard "search for a suitable driver for this device". Select "Specify a location" and point it to the directory where you unpacked the driver files. During the installation you will be warned that the drivers are not digitally signed and you will be asked if you accept our licence agreement. You have to acknowledge both dialogs by clicking on "yes". Windows will install the driver and is ready to operate your ISDN adapter without a reboot.

When you have to start the installation manually…

double-click on the "Add/Remove Hardware" icon in the control panel (Start/Settings/Control Panel). A wizard opens and you have to select "Add/Troubleshoot a device"

-          A PCI, ISA Plug&Play, PCMCIA or USB device will be detected automatically by Windows. Windows displays all devices it can detect but "has trouble" with in a list. Please be aware that the PCI cards are listed as "Network controller". Only ISA PnP and PCMCIA adapters have a human readable name stored on the card. Select your TELES ISDN adapter from this list. After pressing "Next" and "finish" another wizard opens and the installation continues as described above for an automatically started installation process.

-          For other (non-Plug&Play) devices you need to select: "Add a new device", the topmost entry in the list of devices. Do not let windows search for a suitable driver, activate the "No, I want to select the hardware from a list" button. The type of device you want to add is a "Network adapter" and with the "Have Disk" you must point windows to the directory where you unpacked the driver files into. Windows will display a list of all non-Plug&Play ISDN adapters from TELES and you need to select your model. The rest of the installation is specific to your usage of resources like interrupts and I/O addresses. If Windows asks you for resources, be sure to enter the correct I/O address that is set via jumpers on the adapter board. For memory addresses and interrupts you just have to select values that do not conflict with other adapters, as windows will tell you.
Please note: The PCI, ISA Plug&Play, PCMCIA and USB-adapters cannot be installed by adding them manually with the "add a new device" option here in the control panel! Windows must have detected them, you must select them from the list Windows shows you.

Installation problems

When the error message appears that "the file ts0di32.dll cannot be found" or when you are requested to enter the path for "install.exe", you probably have tried to install the Windows NT4 drivers before. Please correct that as follows:

Open the Windows Device Manager ("System"-Icon in the control panel, on the "Hardware" tab press the "Device Manager" button). You will find your adapter under "TELES.ISDN Adapter" probably without a name. From the right mouse button menu of this adapter you open its properties. Click on the "Driver" tab and press the button "Update Driver". Let Windows "Search for a suitable driver for this device" make sure "Specify a location" is checked and point it to the directory where you unpacked the driver files into. When Windows has finished searching it will display the .inf-file name of the driver that it is going to install. Make sure that it chooses netteles.inf! If another .inf-file name is displayed, check "use one of the other drivers" and select netteles.inf from the list. After pressing "next" the installation will continue normally as described above.

We hope you'll enjoy the Windows 2000 drivers for your TELES.ISDN adapter.
