Dear TELES Customer,

This file contains last-minute information and troubleshooting tips for the
TELES ISDN CD with the

   * TELES ISDN CAPI Version 3.34 (Driver for your TELES ISDN adapter) and
   * TELES.RVS-PowerPack 1.63 (ISDN application package).




                              TELES.CAPI 3.34

General Information

   * If you install the CAPI driver from the root directory of the CD - as
     suggested by Windows - your ISDN adapter will be listed in the Device
     Manager with a german name (and the device class is listed as"TELES
     ISDN-Karten"). The driver software itself however is localized
     according to your regional settings in the control panel. If you also
     want the correct adapter name to appear in the Windows Device Manager,
     you have to install the driver from the appropriate language specific
     directory (\Driver\Winxx\language). During installation, when Windows
     asks for the "location" of the driver, you have to "browse" and point
     to your language directory on the CD.
   * If your computer has switched to Standby mode (powered down), ISDN
     applications may not be able to answer incoming calls reliably,
     depending on how long your computer takes to "wake up" from standby.
     If your computer is not quick enough, such calls may be lost. This
     behavior depends on standby settings and overall system speed. To
     avoid such problems, adjust your computer's standby settings or
     deactivate standby mode.



Windows 95

   * If Dial-Up Networking is used, we recommend the installation of
     Dial-Up Networking Update 1.2 (included on CD as
     \Software\Msisdn\Eng\Msdun12.exe ).
   * S0/USB Box and S0/2TR-USB Box drivers cannot yet be removed or
     deactivated using the Windows Device Manager. Both actions currently
     lead to system crashes. (This limitation does not apply under Windows
     98.)
   * S0/USB Box and S0/2TR-USB Box drivers can only be removed via the
     Windows Device Manager if the system is restarted in "safe mode "
     Reboot in safe mode by pressing F8 during the startup procedure before
     Windows 95 starts. The "Windows 95 Startup Menu" appears, from which
     you must select the third option ("safe mode"). Driver removal can
     then be carried out in the usual fashion: 1. Open the System control
     panel and click the Device Manager tab. 2. Select "TELES.S0/USB-Box"
     under "TELES ISDN adapter" and click "Remove".

Windows 98

   * If your TELES.S0/PCMCIA II 2.0 returns the "IRQ or Hardware conflict"
     ISDN Monitor message upon Windows 98 startup, pull the card out and
     reinsert it. Drivers will now be properly loaded. You can avoid this
     error message by inserting the card after Windows 98 has started.
   * The S0/2TR Box prevents the computer from switching to standby mode.
   * PCMCIA and PCI cards cannot accept calls in standby mode
   * If the property sheets for the TELES Miniport lines do not appear in
     the Dial-Up Server dialog, make a new connection and they will appear.

Windows NT 4.0

   * Windows NT does not support the "hot plug" feature for PCMCIA cards.
     Be sure to insert your TELES.S0/PCMCIA into the slot before starting
     up. Do not remove the card from the slot while the system is running.
   * After CAPI removal, the TELES ISDN control panel remains visible until
     after restart.
   * Remote Access Services are only removed during CAPI removal if all
     additional RAS devices are removed as well.
   * If you have difficulty using the TAPI client with the CAPI, you may
     need to deactivate the TELES.NDISWAN Miniport device using the
     "Devices" control panel. If you later remove the TAPI client, you will
     need to reinstall the CAPI to make use of the TELES.NDISWAN Miniport
     lines.



                          TELES.RVS-PowerPack 1.63

   * As the RVS modems are not included in the AOL modem list, AOL should
     be accessed using the AOL-ISDN connection.
   * If AOL-ISDN is set to use the same COM port as the RVS modems, the RVS
     modems will not accept incoming or outgoing calls. Be sure to set
     these devices to use separate ports.
   * If the FAX G4 and Eurofile transfer services are set to use the same
     telephone number (default setting for custom installation) channel
     bundling is not possible. In order to bundle B channels, be certain to
     assign separate numbers for these services.
